Advances in Ice Research and Applications
The 27th IAHR International Symposium on Ice
Gdansk, Poland | 9-13 June, 2024
You are cordially invited to the 27th IAHR International Symposium on Ice, which will be held at Gdańsk University of Technology (GdanskTECH), Gdańsk, Poland.
GdanskTECH is one of the oldest universities in Poland – it was founded in 1904 and has multiple engineering research areas. The university belongs to the Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk, which includes three leading universities of the Pomerania region.
Gdańsk is a city on the Baltic Sea coast of northern Poland. It is one of the oldest and most traditional cities in Poland. The city's history is complex, with periods of Polish and German rule, and autonomy as a free city. In the 1980s, Gdańsk was the birthplace of the Solidarity movement, which helped precipitate the collapse of the Eastern Bloc and the fall of the Berlin Wall. The city is served by Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport, the country's third busiest airport.
The Symposium will cover the following areas of ice research, including river, lake, and sea ice:
River, lake, and reservoir ice
Sea ice
Ice mechanics and hydraulics
Ice interaction with structures
Shipping in ice
Climate change impacts on cryosphere
Environmental and ecological concerns
We also invite proposals to organize special sessions on topics of current interest or research results from large research projects with a group of participants. Please contact us if you have something in mind.
