Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research | Volume 11, Issue 2/2023

The Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research (JAWER) publishes papers and practical case studies on all aspects of hydro-environment engineering and research. JAWER welcomes applications related to integrated water resources management and hydro-policy and aims for international dissemination of innovative methods that will specifically showcase studies on interfacing technology-based solutions within the hydro-environment and their ecological value and services.

Overview

Journal of Applied Water Engineering and Research | Volume 11, Issue 2/2023JAWER publishes technical-oriented papers providing directly applicable solutions to water engineering problems and insight into case studies and practical research.

This edition delves into a wide variety of topics. The first paper explores soil and groundwater remediation in relation to hydrocarbons in tropical aquifers, while the second suggests a potential policy on hydroelectric reservoir integrated spill flow. Next, a biological filter using scoria as media is used in a mature landfill leachate treatment. The effects of sediment transport, flow depth and infiltration on soil moisture profiles in irrigation furrows are studied in the fourth article. The fifth chronicals a team of researcher´s hydrological models of the Bhagirathi River basin made using HEC-HMS, followed by a the detailing of a hydraulic model of a braided channel that aids design of grade-building structures. The seventh article looks at the variation of tree crown height effects on flow behavior around finite vegitation, and the eighth researches seawater intrusion into the Shatt al-Arab River in the northwest Arabian/Persian Gulf.

The second volume of 2023 is concluded by a case report that surveys the 2021 procedure for coastal protection by revetments in Thailand.
