Numerical Model for Sediment Density Current Simulation in Reservoir

Abstract: Based on the principle of transport and diffusion, the movement of sediment density current can approximation to the diffusion process in the water. Amend the transport and diffusion equation and calculation with hydrodynamic of the RNG k-εequations. Use the experiment data for the validation of the model. The results showed that: a revised mathematical model can effectively simulate the turbid density current flow. Use this model, simulated the movement of turbid density current on the Xiluodu reservoir and analysis the law of Xiluodu reservoir‘s turbid density current.
