Abstract: In this research, an analytical formulation for the calculation of conjugate depths in aerated hydraulic jumps is proposed. This formulation, takes into account flow momentum and air concentration in the upstream supercritical flow. A physical model was built in order to calibrate this equation. Significant differences have been observed in downstream energy requirements for the aerated hydraulic jump. Results suggest that aeration may help to improve performance of hydraulic structures.
