Abstract: The results of calculated dissolution times for a 2 mm air bubble under rising pressure in hydraulic engineering applications are presented. The numerical model was created with Matlab and compared and validated with literature results. The effect of surfactants and turbulence is discussed by applying various approaches for the Sherwood number. Dissolution times for different initial air-saturation concentrations in the water versus the rising pressure along the conduit are presented.
