Abstract: On behalf of the Hessian environmental administration a location-related analysis of hydropower use has been conducted in Hessen. One objective of this project was the development of a decision support system to assess the energetic and economic impacts of measures, in order to optimize the hydromorphological or technical situation at the hydropower plant. Furthermore, this tool provides detailed data and information on 621 hydropower plants located in Hessen. This tool could thus support the development of consensual solutions between the different demands and respective mutual benefits.
