Abstract: The paper describes an experimental and analytical study of local scour around bridge under flood conditions. Time evolution of scour depth, as well as bed contours, were obtained. A number of experiments were also conducted under flood conditions. A simple analysis was obtained for predicting the scour depth under unsteady flows.
