Abstract: The paper presents the results of an extensive laboratory campaign designed in order to define the role that rain intensity and slope gradient play on the development of the water erosion. The tests were carried out on a laboratory plot with variable slope gradient using a rainfall simulator and a solar irradiation system, in order to reproduce in laboratory the erosion processes using climatic conditions analogous to the natural ones.
