Abstract: This paper presents the application of 2D hydraulic modelling to the selection of alternatives in river restoration. Case studies from rivers Rhine (Germany), Ebro, Jarama and Manzanares (Spain) are presented. 2D Modelling with IBER software was applied to different restoration projects in the alternative selection phase. Hydraulic modelling over precise bathymetric DTM allows guiding the selection of alternatives and the evaluation of habitat.
