Abstract: The marine environment protection receives an extensive investigation nowadays, and hydrodynamic models need to be developed for studying ocean problems. In this paper, a two-dimensional hydrodynamic model was developed to study wave-current coupling flows that combine wave radiation stress and bed shear stress. Lattice Boltzmann method, a promising numerical simulation method, was used to discretize the mathematical model. The model was verified by two classic cases: waves diffracted by a straight vertical wall and waves diffracted by two breakwaters. The numerical results demonstrate the correctness and rationality of the proposed model, showing that this model is able to generate reliable results for wave-current coupling problems. Furthermore, this model can be coupled with the water quality model to solve other complex problems.
