Abstract: An integrated modelling system, the Regional Environment Simulator, for natural hazard prevention and water environment impact assessment is introduced with its applications to various physical phenomena. RES consists of state-of-the-art numerical models for atmospheric, oceanic and coastal, and terrestrial circulations for water, heat and momentum. Therefore, it provides a platform for scientific background knowledge for graduate students not only from the science and engineering background but also from the social science. Under Global Environmental Leaders (GEL) education programme in Hiroshima University (HU), the RES is proved to be a potential test platform for future scenario and policy in future warming climate.
