Abstract: Ogata Wave Observatory (OWO), belonging to DPRI, Kyoto University had a T-shaped Observation Pier (TOP), and the cross-shore bottom profiles along the TOP have been measured once in a month. After the removal of the TOP in 2008, bottom profile measurement with depth sounder and sampling of bottom sediment have been carried out a few times a year. In this paper, annual variations of cross-shore bottom profile are shown with grain size distributions in cross-shore direction. Shoreline retreat around the TOP proceeded continuously for a long time. In contrast, shoreline advance is observed since 2005 although the shoreline advance occurs in the limited area around the TOP. Cross-shore distributions of grain size composition have some change corresponding to bottom profiles, and the decrease of grain size is observed under the condition of shoreline advance.
