Abstract: This paper presents a finite element modeling of coupled system between flow and bed evolution. The continuity and momentum equations are solved together with the bed sediment conservation equation. The Petrov-Galerkin method with dissipative property is used for the numerical analysis. The optimal upwind parameter is obtained through Fourier analysis. The model is applied to a surge propagation problem and bed evolution problems under excessive sediment load.
