NOAA GLERL Research and Application in the Great Lakes

Abstract: In this talk, I first introduce the institutional structure of the Great Lakes EnvironmentalResearch Laboratory (GLERL), a research lab of seven sister laboratories belonging to NOAA Ocean and Atmospheric Research (OAR). Then, I will briefly show the research projectsconducted at GLERL’s three branches. Furthermore, I will focus on the ongoing researchprojects related to lake/sea ice cover and climate in the Great Lakes and the Arctic. Finally, A future research outlook will be given for GLERL’s ice and climate research.
