Abstract: Standard spillways are characterised by a bottom profile identical to the lower nappe of asharp-crested weir.Under design head H=Ho,the bottom pressure is equal to zero,therefore.Owing to the widespread application,the standard spillway may be consideredas a basic overflow structure and deserves particular attention.
