Abstract: Under the Great East Japan Earthquake, Mound Type Tsunami Evacuation Facility was focused on the reason of the survivors by being evacuated to Mound Facility from Tsunami. In Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, Mound Type Tsunami Evacuation Facility “INOCHIYAMA” for the Nankai Trough Huge Earthquake was planned. “INOCHIYAMA” means the evacuation mound (“YAMA”) to protect our lives (“INOCHI”) in the case of emergencies, Tsunami, High tides and Wave due to the high tides etc. In present, although there is the design method of Dike and Embankment in various standards similar to Tsunami Evacuation Facility, there is not the design method of Mound Type Tsunami Evacuation Facility. Therefore, we propose the design method of Mound Type Tsunami Evacuation Facility. Especially, examination methods of the design flow, the crest height and the examination cases of the stability study are considered as the matters of high novelty. Besides, concerning the examination of water level in front of Tsunami Evacuation Facility to be used to calculate the crest height of Tsunami Evacuation Facility, we propose it is important that we confirm the water level by the comparison of the result of Tsunami Simulation between tsunami setup before constructing Tsunami Evacuation Facility and run-up water level after constructing Tsunami Evacuation Facility.
