Abstract:
Climate change and escalating water demand are exacerbating groundwater depletion in North China, where aquifers serve as critical buffers against droughts and seasonal variability. Decades of over-extraction have led to multiple hydro-environmental issues such as declined water tables, land subsidence, and deteriorated water environment, jeopardizing agricultural and urban water security in this region.
