Abstract: With the rapid development of the society, the demand for high quality of water resources is increasing. Conventional monitoring methods of water quality are costly, time-consuming, and laborious; while hyperspectral remote sensing technology provides an effective way for long-term monitoring of inland water bodies. These methods gather the spectral characteristics of water bodies, and synchronize them with in-situ field observations. Through the correlation analysis between water quality parameters and spectral characteristics, the water quality inversion model is therefore established. This paper introduces the metrology analysis of hyperspectral remote sensing methods in inland water bodies, and summarizes the current research status and progress of hyperspectral water quality inversion models in Chlorophyll-a, suspmatter, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and Nonferrous dissolved organic matter (CDOM). Finally, the research summary and future research directions are also proposed.
