Journal of Hydraulic Research | Volume 61, Issue 2/2023

cover2023_2_3.jpgThe Journal of Hydraulic Research (JHR) publishes research papers in theoretical, experimental and computational hydraulics and fluid mechanics, relating to rivers, lakes, estuaries, coasts, constructed waterways, and some internal flows such as pipe flows. To reflect current trends in water research, articles that explore outcomes of interdisciplinary hydro-environment studies with a strong fluid mechanical component are especially welcome. Although preference is given to fundamental issues, papers focusing on important unconventional or emerging applications of broad interest are also appreciated.

 Overview

This issue begins with a forum article on the history and physical significance of the roughness Froude number, followed by 7 research papers and 3 technical notes that use experimental, numerical and analytical approaches to make important advances in open channels, dense jets, surge waves, seawater, vegetated channels, mixing in storage tanks, erosion, flows past obstacles and turbulent processes at junctions.
