Abstract: A numerical model based on the SU/PG scheme was developed to solve shallow water equations. Using this model, the effects of Navier-slip condition (partial-slip conditions) on the laminar flow properties past a circular cylinder including velocity and vorticity distributions behind the cylinder have been analyzed. Time-averaged velocity structures behind the cylinder wall for Re=100 showed that the longitudinal velocity by partial-slip condition had higher gradient along the longitudinal direction than no slip had. The maximum velocity by no-slip and partial-slip conditions occurred as passing by the cylinder while the result by free-slip condition had maximum value on the walls perpendicular to the flow direction. The time variations of longitudinal, transverse velocities and vorticity behind the cylinder were also analysed. The vorticity snapshots drawn at the time of local minimum and maximum of lift coefficient clearly showed the phase-lag and amplitude difference in transverse direction between no-slip and partial slip cases.
