Abstract: A river habitat evaluation method using a depth-averaged hydraulic model with topo-bathymetric data obtained from airborne LiDAR is presented as a suitability index for the spawning of the targeted fish, Ayu (Plecoglossus altivelis), in the lower Asahi River in Japan. It is based on a physical habitat simulation (PHABSIM) approach.
