Abstract: We are developing a Large-Scale Particle Image Velocimetry (LSPIV) application software for smartphones. Our goal is to provoke public involvement in water resource management, flood control, and aquatic ecosystem preservation. A function for calibrating internal camera parameters had been implemented. Also included is a function to overlay 3D plot of digital elevation model onto the camera view to check a consistency between the device navigation and the real coordinate system used to define the cross-sectional profile of the channel.
