Journal of Hydraulic Research, Volume 64, Issue 5, 2026 is Now Available Online!

JHR5-cover-250x350px.pngThe Journal of Hydraulic Research (JHR) publishes research papers in theoretical, experimental and computational hydraulics and fluid mechanics, relating to rivers, lakes, estuaries, coasts, constructed waterways, and some internal flows such as pipe flows. To reflect current trends in water research, articles that explore outcomes of interdisciplinary hydro-environment studies with a strong fluid mechanical component are especially welcome. Although preference is given to fundamental issues, papers focusing on important unconventional or emerging applications of broad interest are also appreciated.

 Overview

The penultimate issue of 2026, the Journal of Hydraulic Research comprises eleven original contributions: ten Research Papers, and one Case Study. These original studies inform both researchers and practitioners about the latest developments on subjects of importance to our profession. More specifically, the subject matter of these contributions can be grouped into the following general topic areas: transient pipe flows (3), pump-turbine flows (2), dam-break floods (2), flow through vegetation (2), meandering channel flows and observations of spillway operation during large floods under prototype conditions.
